Many whom regularly goes to San Qing Gong for prayers and would have seen this newspaper ad all over the place. We did noticed it when we went down to SQG as well. Hence we decided to probe further.
It was believed to be the act of Tan and that he did it on purpose to paste it all over his temple. Many from the Taoist fraternity were puzzled what did these 2 mentioned persons did to warrant such a big publicity effort from Taoist Federation. It was also on their website.
We poked our noses around the fraternity to find out more and here is what we have found.
In summary, it was believed that Tan had allegedly removed these 2 temples when they were elected into TFS committee last year. When the 2 folks seek to TFS for a reply as to why were they removed via their legal counsel, TFS lead by Tan then got enraged and decided to published the newspaper notices and spread it all over. The folks decided to then sue TFS lead by Tan for defamation. Tan was known to have gone around telling people that TFS is a charity organisation and TFS "cannot be sued" he will settle the matter as he assured the rest of the committee and friends.
Tan then instructed his right hand man to represent TFS and made an application to the court to strike out the suit. The judge heard the application on 6 July 2021 and order the defamation suit against TFS to be continued and that TFS has to pay $1000 in costs for the application. It is believed that this has caused Tan quite an embarrassment as he had previously very arrogantly proclaimed that he cannot be sued.
This story is ongoing and more events are believed to unfold along the way. We will update when we are able to get more info of this suit. We also urge those with information of the suit to step forward and contact us.
