We received a tip off from a reader whose parent had went to the recent 9 Emperors festival at Hougang Kew Ong Yah temple and became Covid positive thereafter. We then did our checks with the volunteers within the temple and found that Tan is strongly believed to be tested COVID-19 positive as well except that he is hiding the truth from the public. It is believed that he went around business as usual despite the need for him to stay isolated. He had attended 2 major events during the last week 1) Nine Emperors Festival @ Hougang Kew Ong Yah Temple and 2) Racial Harmony Cultural Appreciation Night @ Lorong Koo Chye Sheng Hong Temple.
(He is even not wearing his masks when giving his speech when he already knows that he is infected)
It is understood that his irresponsible behaviour of managing the recent event had caused a few members of his temple to be infected. This is totally contradicting what he had said in his speech that he had taken measurements and will take guide from MOH to ensure they adhere to the SMMs. While we understand the government is moving ahead with living with Covid-19, we have grounds to believe that he had breached SMM and the MOH Infectious Diseases Act. This post serves as a Public service announcement to everyone out there whom had been to Hougang Kew Ong Yah Temple and Lorong Koo Chye Sheng Hong Temple to implement self testing if you are not feeling well. Do avoid the above 2 mentioned temples for now until the cluster is cleared.
